Milton Douglas “Doug” Martinek


 Milton Douglas “Doug” Martinek, 55, passed away in Ennis on Thursday, November 15, 2012. Doug was born in Ennis, Texas on February 6, 1957 to Milton W. and Nadine (Honza) Martinek. He grew up in Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School in 1975. He worked as a carpenter. His careers also included working at Ennis Furniture, Ennis Livestock Auction, Ellis County Livestock Auction and Ennis Feed Store. He was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, KJT, SPJST and RVOS #51. He enjoyed carpentry and working with his hands. He loved his family, his dogs and “farm life” in general.He is survived by sisters: Linda Trojacek, Doreen Honza, Peggy Aaron and Nancy Martinek; sister-in-law, Debbie Martinek; and his very special thirteen nieces and nephews, whom he loved greatly: Sheila Motley, Sandra Slovak, Randy Trojacek (God-son), Julie Thornton, Bryan Honza, Christina Reyna, James Aaron, Tiffany Aaron, Derek Martinek, Donese Martinek, Cynthia Kovar, Daniel Price and Staci Price, along with several special great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, his parents and one brother, Dennis Martinek. Visitation will be on Sunday, November 18, 2012 from 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. with Rosary at 7:30 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis. Mass of the Christian Burial will be on Monday, November 19, 2012 at 10 a.m. in the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis with Father John Dick as celebrant. Pallbearers will be: Randy Trojacek, Bryan Honza, Biff Thornton, Daniel Reyna, James Aaron, Derek Martinek, Daniel Price and Robert Kovar. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc. Memorials may be made in Doug’s name to the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society. www.jekeevermortuary.com
