Ruth (Nunn) Butler


Ruth (Nunn) Butler, age 81, of Ennis, passed away Friday, September 21, 2012 at her home.  She was born August 23, 1931 in Winthrop, Arkansas to Paul and Lucy (Province) Nunn.  She married J.W. “Jake” Butler on December 18, 1948 in Ashdown, Arkansas.

Survivors include her loving husband of 64 years, J.W. “Jake” Butler of Ennis; two daughters, Barbara Schwartz of Ennis, Patsy Martinez and her husband Albert of Ennis;  three sons, Jerry Butler and his wife Toni of Ennis, Benny Butler and his wife Kathy of Ennis, Ronney Butler and his wife Julie of Palmer; 10 grand children, David, Misty, Brian, Kelly, Zeke, Miranda, Lucas, Mallory, Todd and Jeremy;  8 great grandchildren, Haylee, Hillaree, Scottie, Jordan, Brooklyn, Cambry, Addison, Devin;  one sister, Ruby Weston of Branson, Missouri;  four brothers, Don Nunn and his wife Virginia of Ennis, John Nunn and his wife Mary of Dallas, Frank Nunn of Eagletown, Oklahoma, D.L. “Pete” Nunn of Horatio, Arkansas; sister-in-laws, Shirley Oglesby and husband Ott of Foreman, Arkansas, Helen Smith and her husband Robert of Hayworth, Oklahoma, Mary Lincoln and her husband Sherman of Hayworth, Oklahoma,  Lucille Henderson and her husband Jim of Forman, Arkansas, Susie Butler, McCamey, Texas and Beatrice Butler, Foreman, Arkansas;  brother-in-law, Charles Butler, and his wife Jamie of Horatio, Arkansas;  and several wonderful nieces and nephews and special Aunt Gracie Vandiver.

She is preceded in death by her parents;  brother, George Nunn;  two sisters, Vera and Dora Nunn.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home.

Funeral services are scheduled for Ten o’clock A.M., Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Chapel in Ennis.   Pastor Eddie Ricks will be officiating.  Interment will follow in the Bristol Cemetery.
