Hillsboro tops Ladyhorns in elimination game

The Ennis Janitorial Lil Ladyhorns got off to a much better start in their Tuesday midget division district game at Bluebonnet Park, much to the delight of coach Tony Wilhoite.
However, Hillsboro Purple came up big in its final at bat to build a cushion and then kept the Ladyhorns at bay in a 14-10 win for the visitors. The loss eliminated EJ from the district tournament.
“We played pretty good defense most of the game,” Wilhoite said. “We had two bad innings and the late mistakes put us in a tough spot.”
