Dallas-area police seek motive in girl’s death
DALLAS (AP) — Authorities say they don’t have a motive after arresting a family member in the Dallas-area abduction and stabbing death of a 10-year-old Oklahoma City girl.
Police in the Dallas suburb of Carrollton said Tuesday that 23-year-old Jose Sifuentes is facing a murder charge in the death of Jasmen Gonzalez. Carrollton police Lt. Doug Mitchell said Sifuentes’ common law wife is a cousin of the victim.
Sifuentes was among those attending a family gathering Saturday night when the girl disappeared. The girl’s body was found Sunday afternoon.
In the arrest warrant, authorities said they found a knife with blood on it in the suspect’s car.
Mitchell said he did not have any attorney information for Sifuentes.
Gonzalez and her family had traveled from Oklahoma City to Carrollton to visit family.
