SUV taken from home of DA
DALLAS (AP) — Dallas County’s top prosecutor has become the victim of a crime.
Authorities in DeSoto, where District Attorney Craig Watkins lives, say he called 911 about 7:30 a.m. Friday after discovering his Mercedes G-Wagen had been taken from his home.
The gate to a security fence was smashed
The sport utility vehicle had been in the garage, but the garage door was up and the keys were in the SUV.
Watkins said neither he nor his wife heard anything because their bedroom is on the opposite side of the house. He said he is confident DeSoto police will catch whoever is responsible for the theft.
