Texas man wanted in murders caught in West Tenn.

RIPLEY, Tenn. (AP) — The U.S. Marshals Service says a man suspected of killing a Texas couple has been captured in West Tennessee.

U.S. Marshals spokesman Seth Bruce said Donny Lee Greenhow was caught Friday morning. Details on the capture were not immediately released.

Authorities had been searching for Greenhow in a heavily wooded area in Lauderdale County after he was identified by residents and police officers.

Police said Greenhow left his driver’s license at a gas station in Ripley on Thursday. An officer ran his license and found that Greenhow was wanted in connection with a double murder in Van Zandt County, Texas.

A capital murder warrant was issued after the bodies of 74-year-old Peter Shick and his 55-year-old wife, Latricia, were found last week in their mobile home in Ben Wheeler, Texas.
