Tugboat worker dies in Corpus Christi, body found

CORPUS CHRISTI (AP) — A tugboat crewmember reported missing from the vessel at the Port of Corpus Christi has been found dead in the water.

Corpus Christi police do not suspect foul play in Tuesday’s death. An autopsy has been ordered.

Dive team members helped search for the man after he was last seen around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday aboard the Ann Blessey. Officials believe the worker had planned to check the hold before wrapping up his watch shift.

Divers recovered the body late Tuesday afternoon. The name of the Blessey Marine Services Inc. worker wasn’t immediately released. Company officials are cooperating in the accident investigation.
