Amber alert issued for Ellis County teen


The Ellis County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children has issued a child abduction alert for 16-year-old Inez Ramirez.

Ramirez is believed to have been abducted by 23-year-old Edgar Barton. Barton is driving a red 2006 Chevrolet Silverado with an unknown state license plate. Law enforcement officials believe the child to be in grave or immediate danger.

Ramirez is described as 5’2″ tall, weighing 130 pounds with brown shoulder-length hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a green shirt, black shorts, and flip flops.

Her suspected abductor, Barton, stands 5’9″ weighing 145 pounds with black eyes and brown hair.
