Burn ban lifted


County Fire Marshal Joe Stewart told the court he saw some pre-winter burning as a necessity and that recent rains have helped with dry conditions. Some areas of the county remain above the usual Keetch-Byrum Drought Index benchmark for banning burns.

Precinct 3 Commissioner Paul Perry moved to lift the ban with a plan to take up another ban for consideration at the court’s Oct. 28 meeting.
