‘Treats’ packing now

First Christian Church is packing the next shipment for the community’s Treats for Troops project in the coming weeks. Cash donations are deeply appreciated, as sending packages overseas costs more than $10 each.
The holiday drive for goods to send overseas to U.S. troops in harm’s way is emphasizing gently used DVDs, but organizers are looking for all of the old favorites:
• Sunblock
• Lip salve
• Eye drops
• White cotton socks
• One-size-fits-all cotton gloves
• Individually wrapped candy and other nonperishable food items
Items can be dropped off at Ennis State Bank, 500 W. Ennis Ave., or First Christian Church at 805 W. Baldridge on Monday and Tuesday between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
