Unity in the Community Music Festival set Friday

Unity in the Community’s Black Music Festival is set Friday, June 21 at Ennis Veterans Memorial Park.

From 6 to 8 p.m., children’s features will include a rock climbing wall, bounce house, face painting, popcorn and snow cones.

At 7 p.m., bring a lawn chair and dancing shoes for old school gospel, jazz and blues.

Drawings, door prizes and raffle tickets for a $200 prize will also be available, and featured booths will include Family Care of Texas, Hometown Chiropractic, Tommy’s Hot Dogs of Waxahachie, Give a Kid a Chance, the Turkey Leg Man, A Daddy’s Love All Natural Products, Baylor University’s Be the Match bone marrow program and the Ellis County Democratic Party.

Music will include jazz and blues by George Crump and Soulful Sax, with performances also scheduled by Gary Freeman, Billy Collins, New Review and Estevan. For more information, call UNITY7-9227 or email [email protected].
