Ways to Enter:
1. Save your receipts when you do business with Ellis County Marketplace Vendors. Each receipt equals one “marketplace dollar.” When you collect ten marketplace dollars, bring them in to the Ennis Daily News office for a prize and an entry into our monthly cash drawing. No multiple receipts from the same location on the same day, please. Total marketplace dollars not limited to ten; twenty will earn two prizes and two drawing entries. For a complete list of vendors, scroll down.

2. Find and Circle all the QR codes in the newspaper each day. Save your papers for the week, and bring them in to the Ennis Daily News office the following Monday for a prize and an entry into our monthly cash drawing. QR stands for “Quick Response,” and the code allows a customer to quickly reach a digital message by scanning with a smartphone or tablet device. For an example of what a QR code looks like, see the Marketplace logo at the very top of this page. To scan a QR code with your smartphone or tablet, download a free “QR scanner” app. Limit one “find the QR” entry per reader, per week, please.
or
3. Visit ten Marketplace Vendor Online Profile Pages, and leave an encouraging comment at the bottom of each one. Write down the names of the businesses you visited (or print the pages out), and bring them in to the Ennis Daily News office for a prize and an entry into our monthly cash drawing. Leave as many comments as you’d like, but only one comment per profile page will count for the contest. For a complete list of vendors and their online profile pages, scroll down.
*You need only do one to enter the drawing and be rewarded, but to MAXIMIZE your chances of winning, enter all three!*
About the Marketplace:
The Marketplace encompasses print advertising, digital destinations, QR codes linking the two and a rewards system for customers who shop with marketplace vendors. This innovative platform motivates readers to frequent participating vendors. Ellis County is a unique place with tons of potential, and the Ellis County Marketplace will seek to help business leaders fully realize that potential. This new hybrid advertising model merges print with digital, and will attract a new customer base to vendors through multiple pathways. Utilizing QR technology, each vendor’s print advertising is directly linked to its online business profile at the Ennis Daily News website. Anyone with a smartphone or tablet device can access a desired vendor quickly and easily through the digitally linked QR codes. QR code generation provided to vendors by the Ennis Daily News.
In addition, the Marketplace features an ongoing rewards system, which gives prizes and cash drawing entries to those customers who do business with participating vendors. Ennis Daily News readers are invited and encouraged to Shop Local and Be Rewarded!
