Ennis police haven’t filed any arrests yet, but they seized gambling devices from four gas stations in Ennis on Friday during simultaneous warrant searches at the locations.
The four stores — Charlie’s Exxon and Grocery at 501 E. Ennis Ave., Kwik Pantry Food Mart at 2201 W. Ennis Ave., the Kwick Pick at 900 N. Kaufman St., and the Chevron station at Lionbackers Drive In at 1108 W. Lake Bardwell Drive — yielded 28 gambling machines. Members of both the Ennis Police Department Patrol Division and Criminal Investigations Division descended on the four locations around lunchtime.
