Honza, Johnson wed

Brooke Honza and Chris Johnson were united in holy matrimony March 9, 2013 at the Meyer Center in Waco.

The ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Danny Tenney, pastor of Richland Hills United Methodist Church and long-time family friend. The bride was given in marriage by her father, Michael Honza.

The bride is the daughter of Michael and Sherri Honza, of Waco; and the granddaughter of Wesley and Annette Honza, of Ennis; and the late Grover Wayne and the late Jane Dixon, of Ennis.

The groom, who hails from Pasadena, is the son of Mike and Roxie Johnson, of Spring. He is the grandson of Bruce and the late Marty Jane Johnson, of Houston; and the late George Wesley and late Maxine Johnson of Coffeeville, Miss.

Maid of honor was Elizabeth Martin, of Whitehouse, sorority sister and college roommate of the bride. Matron of honor was Haley Hankins, of Ennis, cousin of the bride.

Bridesmaids included Megan Carmean, of Benton, Ark.; Natalia Fredericks, of Kingwood; Jessica Preston, of Sugarland; Jessice Puente, cousin of the bride,  of Ennis; Heather Thompson, of Amarillo; and Lauren Westbrook of Chesterfield, Mo.

Best man was Mitch Peoples, of Dayton. Groomsmen included Dan Bintliff, of Fort Worth; Alex Honza, brother of the bride, of Waco; Jason Jones, of Houston; Anthony Parrotta, of Fort Worth; Colt Pope, of Irving; Hunter Miller, of Lucas; and Adam Mills, of Allen.

Flower girls were Brylee Hankins, cousin of the bride,  of Ennis; and Chaselyn Johnson, cousin of the groom,  of Houston. Ringbearers were Drestan Honza, cousin of the bride ,of Ennis; and Quint Hutchinson, cousin of the groom,  of Augusta, Ga.

House party included  Sarah Novy, of Ennis, Christy Scharf of Tyler, and Tiffany Tidwell of Addison, all cousins of the bride; Emily Epperson, of Chandler; Katie Manwaring, of Lewisville; Brittany Scott, of Dallas; Lindsey Smith, of Midlothian; and Haley Walker, of Sherman.

Music for the ceremony was provided by Scott Menefee and the Hannah Barber Quartet. The couple’s first dance was to an original arrangement created especially for the occasion, written and performed by Colt Pope and Anthony Parrotta.  Dance music for the reception was provided by DJ Custom Sound, Chad Wester, of Ennis.

The reception was located at the Phoenix Ballroom, and service was provided by Rio Brazos Catering. Cakes were created by Custom Cakes by Laura.

A rehearsal dinner was hosted by Mike and Roxie Johnson at 1424 Bistro on March 8 in Waco. Photography was provided by The Bird and The Bear of Austin.

After a honeymoon to a yet-to-be-announced location, the couple plans residence in San Antonio.
