Cerf House wedding a beautiful event in 1915

On June 12, 1915 one of the year’s most beautiful weddings took place at the famous Cerf Mansion in Ennis when Leon and Mamie Cerf’s daughter, Rosa, married Alex Berger. Although officially an informal wedding, it was elegantly arranged and well-attended. The house was decorated with swags of smilax, pink peonies, jasmine and sweet peas. The bride and groom recited their vows under the arch of a lighted trellis entwined with smilax and banked with pedestals on which stood tall baskets of white peonies.
