Nailed It

A major traffic issue faced Ennis and surrounding areas in October 1971 when a commercial truck dropped a keg of roofing nails onto Interstate 45. More than 40 vehicles suffered flat tires after they rolled over thousands of these nails between Ferris and Corsicana, with a large concentration of the debris deposited at Ennis.
