Ennisites support city’s first daughter

This community has rallied behind one of its own in recent days following the December announcement that Anna Thomas would need a bone marrow transplant.
Anna is the daughter of Ennis Mayor Russell Thomas and his wife Nancy and recently graduated from Texas Tech University. Since being diagnosed, many people from the area have donated blood in Anna’s name.
We’re sure that support will continue following the recent announcement of a benefit for Anna to be held March 1 at the KC Hall in Ennis. The event will consist of a silent and live auction and dinner. Sportscaster Dale Hansen will be the guest speaker and broadcaster Gloria Campos will also be in attendance to help with the festivities. Several auction items have already been donated and we hope to see many more come in the days ahead.
The silent auction is set to begin around 5:30 p.m. with dinner beginning at 6:30 p.m. A cash bar will also open at 5:30 p.m. Dale Hansen will speak from 7:30 to 8 p.m. and the live auction starts at 8:30 p.m.
This community is well known for its caring and generosity.
This is the time to show why that reputation is so well-deserved. All area businesses are encouraged to donate items for the auction and we hope everyone will make it a point to buy tickets, attend the event and bid generously.
Tickets will be $75 each and corporate tables are available for $1,000. Please don’t wait to order your tickets and donate those auction items, because March 1 will be here before you know it.
For more information on the benefit, contact Jess Haupt at 972-875-1660 or Gus Jones at 972-979-3789.
