Commissioners’ Court to act

Racial profiling report from Precinct 2 also on court’s agenda
The Ellis County Commissioners’ Court will hold a public hearing today and take possible action on a resolution approving and authorizing the county’s creation of Prairie Ridge Public Improvement District 1 and providing an effective date thereof.
The Commission will also discuss and consider the following items:
• Approval of regular bills, payroll and officers’ reports.
• Approval of the January 2008 Travel Reports of the Texas Cooperative Extension Office.
• Approval of the 2007 Racial Profiling Report from Precinct 2 Constable Terry Nay and Precinct 4 Constable Steve McKinney.
• Approval of a one-year bond for Ellis County Clerk Cindy Polley for the year 2008.
• Approval of refund for overpayment of taxes for Ennis Akash Hotels International Inc. for $4,186.63.
• Rescinding the Ellis County Burn Ban.
• Approval of the application to close, abandon and vacate public roads (alleyways) in block 17, Skyline Acres Addition, to Casey D. Harris, the sole land owner.
• Approval of a Work Order Under Interlocal Agreement between Milford and the county to resurface city streets at three locations.
• Approval of a proclamation recognizing National FFA Week, which is Feb. 16-23.
• Approval of a proclamation recognizing former Waxahachie High School Ag teacher Ron Appleton.
• Approval of Agreement Cooperation and the Work Under between Ellis County and the Ennis Garden Club.
• Discussion of flooding issues in the Spring Creek Grove Subdivision.
• The purchase of real property and acceptance of a donation of real property on Sonoma Trail in Ennis.
• Consideration and action regarding the cancellation of the existing agreement with Colwell Oil and Pearman Fuel for convenience store fuel. The cancellation will be effective 60 days after issuance of the notice and the items will be bid for again with additional specifications and requirements.
The Commission will meet at 6 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Courtroom, located on the second floor of the courthouse at 101 W. Main St.
Anyone wishing to address the Commissioners Court concerning a posted agenda item must make a formal request by presenting a “Participation Form” to the County Clerk at least 10 minutes prior to the beginning of the meeting.
Attendees with a disability that requires special arrangements are asked to contact the County Judge’s Office at 972-825-5011 within 72 hours of the meeting. Reasonable accommodations will be made to meet all needs at the meeting.
