Literary Guild meets Thurs.

Dallas author, actress providing program at Library
The Ennis Literary Guild is hosting its next program at the Ennis Public Library from 7:15-8:30 p.m. tomorrow. The guest speaker is humorist, author and actress Rose-Mary Rumbley.
The speaker, a member of Oak Cliff Authors, is a contributor to the Oak Cliff Tribune and has written seven books, four on the history of Dallas, including Strolling through the Park: The History of the Dallas Park Board and A Century of Class: Public Education in Dallas, 1884-1984.
In addition to writing, Rumbley is an actress, appearing on stage at Dallas Summer Musicals and Casa Manana in Fort Worth as well as in film, playing the role of Aunt Billie in Paper Moon.
Holding a Ph.D. in communications from the University of North Texas, Rumbley served as head of Dallas Baptist University’s drama department for 12 years and on the staff of the First Baptist Church of Dallas for seven years.
Rumbley is married to musician Jack Rumbley; they have two children and a grandchild.
Membership in the Ennis Literary Guild, founded last year by Nancy Thomas, Joanne Ventura and Sandra Wakefield, is by donation and open to all women. For more information contact Ventura at 972-878-7300.
