34 surplus items had bids Mon.

Commission approves sale, local residents vie in bidding
In bid awards, the Ennis City Commission approved the sale of surplus equipment Monday. There were a total of 26 bidders vying for 34 items. Bidders included:
• Stephanie Easley for two 1993 Chevrolet 4-Door Sedans for $600 each, a 1993 Chevrolet C1500 Truck for $600, a 1998 Ford 4-Door Sedan for $550, a 1993 Chevrolet 1/2-ton Pick-up Truck for $600, two 2000 Ford 4-Door Sedans for $550 each, a 1996 Ford 4-Door Sedan for $550, a 2005 Ford 4-Door Sedan for $750, two 2001 Ford 4-Door Sedans for $550 each and a 1999 Ford Expedition for $1,000.
• Robert Campbell for a 2003 Ford 4-Door Sedan for $1,501.01 and two 2001 Ford 4-Door Sedans for $751.01 each.
• Ernest Molina for a 1993 Chevrolet Van for $600 and a 1983 John Deere Cutter for $250.
• Kevin Ivey for a 1988 Ford Garbage Truck for $877 and a 1984 GMC Sewer Truck for $552.
• Clinton Nelson for a 1982 Ford Pumper for $1,026, a 1982 John Deere Grader for $11,120, two 1983 John Deere Tractors for $4,105 each, a 1995 SWR Sludge Tractor for $705 and a 1990 John Deere Mower for $126.
• Troy Patak for a Trailer and Boring Rig for $301 and a Tandem Axle Trailer for $651.
• Michael Kozlovsky for a 2000 John Deere Mower for $101.
• Michael Valek for a Bush Hog Post Hole Digger for $350 and a John Deere Mower for $3,300.
• Bill Bowles for a Modern Sunshine Mower for $27.50.
• Frankie Vrana for a Single Axle Trailer for $55.
• Sabino Moncada for a 1992 Dodge 1-Ton Dually for $5,000.
• William McBee for a 2001 Ford 4-Door Sedan for $1,500.
Howerton said the successful bidders will be required to remove the purchased bid item from city property within 14 calendar days.
All the commissioners were present at Monday’s meeting.
The City Commission meets every other Monday at 7 p.m. in the City Commission Chambers at City Hall.
The meeting is open to the public.
