Stepping lively: Walk for a cure

Along with supporting the local Relay for Life, two Ennis women are hitting the road for another worthy cause benefiting cancer research –– the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation’s “3 Day Walk for the Cure.”
This November Sara Robinson and Pricilla Herrera will make the 60-mile trek from Fort Worth to Dallas over a 3-day period to raise money and awareness of the need for finding a cure for breast cancer.
“It is just so inspiring for me,” said Robinson, a dental assistant in the office of Dr. Larry Treadaway. “It has already helped me realize that little stuff is not important, and has taught me to live each day to the fullest. It makes you think twice on how we live our lives and the things we take for granted.”
The Ennis Daily News commends Herrera and Robinson for taking part in the “Walk for the Cure.” Their willingness to be of service to others, their determination to succeed in their campaign for such an important cause and their overall spirit of caring are attributes to admire and emulate. We sure hope our readers will take their own steps toward eradicating the scourge of breast cancer by helping these young women raise the money they need to join the benefit walk that kicks off in Fort Worth on Nov. 7.
Please read Candie Beck-Adams’ front page story in today’s issue for more details on the event –– and how you can help.
