Help kids start school off right

The new school year is fast approaching and with it comes the need for school supplies.
Refiner’s Fire Ministries will be helping local families meet that need by giving away 500 bags of school supplies during their Annual Family Fun Fest this Sunday.
With the higher gas prices and the struggling economy it will be more difficult than ever for some local families to buy the school supplies they need this year. We’re happy to see Refiner’s Fire stepping up to help these families and we want to encourage others to do the same. Other local churches and organizations help to provide school supplies each year and it’s important that we support these efforts.
Many of us take for granted that our children will have the school supplies they need. However, for some local families it is a struggle. It’s important for those of us who can help to do so.
If your church is providing school supplies for families in need, please support this program so that no child has to attend classes without the tools they need to succeed.
During the holidays we are more conscious of the needs of those less fortunate in our community, but those needs do not begin and end with the holiday season. The beginning of the school year can be an especially difficult time with the extra expense of buying school clothes and supplies – often for multiple children. Anything we can do to help alleviate this need can make a big difference for families who are facing difficult times and we know the citizens of this community will do what they can.
