Show your Lion pride this Friday

The residents of Ennis have never been accused of being complacent when it comes to high school football, but we thought it would be a good idea to encourage fans to bring the best of their team spirit to this Friday’s game.
Our Ennis Lions are carrying a perfect record into this week’s home game against Midway and those of us who fill the stands each week shouldn’t discount the role we play in helping the team rack up those victories.
Don’t misunderstand, all the credit for the impressive season belongs to the boys on the field, but we can do our part by loudly cheering them on. These guys and their coaches work hard every day to do their best and it means a lot to them to hear the home fans getting fired up during the game. They feed off that enthusiasm and appreciate the support we can give.
This week’s game also gives us the chance to show off what it means to be part of the “maroon platoon” by wearing our maroon shirts, caps and anything else we can think of. The goal is to turn the home stands into a sea of maroon and we’re looking forward to seeing our community spirit on full display.
We’re proud of the hard work put in by the Ennis Lions this year and are glad to see them riding the wave of success that comes from that dedication. It’s important that we let the players know how we feel by cheering for them loudly and often during Friday’s district matchup. Midway is a tough opponent and they’ll be looking for a win when they come into Lion Memorial Stadium. Let’s show them a sea of maroon and our unbeatable community spirit instead.
So put on your maroon shirt, loosen up those vocal chords and make it a point to attend this week’s game ready to show your Lion pride.
