The spotlight is on Ennis’ ISD

Plenty of good news has trickled down out of the Ennis school district lately all the way from the administration down to the teachers and students.
First there have been all the lists sent from each school detailing the hundreds of students who have excelled in academics and been named to “A” and “A/B” Honor Rolls. Every six-weeks period that goes by these lists prove how hard the children of Ennis are working and how well the teachers are getting their lessons across to the students. It’s an overwhelming list when you take it all in, but each name on it deserves a big pat on the back.
Speaking of the teachers, it was a thrill to learn that Lori Aguilar was nominated for the Texas Exes Award for Outstanding Teachers. Aguilar is representing Region 10 Educational Service Center and is a wonderful asset to the local educational community. Ennis is blessed to have her teaching at Sam Houston Elementary School.
Another impressive bit of news is that the school district earned a top rating of “Superior Achievement” for Texas’ Schools FIRST financial accountability system. When you think of a school district, the accounting department usually isn’t one of the groups that first comes to mind, unless things are not going well such is the case in Dallas’ school district at the moment. Congratulations to Lisa Fincher and everyone else who was responsible for this notable achievement.
These are just a few examples of the things that make Ennis ISD such a splendid district to be a part of. We don’t want to leave anyone out. Also consider the remarkable accomplishments of the Ennis Lions football team over these last few weeks. And we also congratulate Grace Nelson, who was announced as first chair in the Region XX All-District Choir this past weekend. Nelson, a sophomore at Ennis High School, will participate in the All-District Choir Concert next month.
Congratulations the EISD for doing so many things so well.
