Sign up now for Christmas parade

One of our favorite events of the year in Ennis is the Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Christmas Parade of Lights.
This event literally brightens the holidays for local residents who arrive downtown to line the streets as the decorated floats make their way down Ennis Avenue. It’s a great way to kick off the Christmas season and celebrate the charm of our hometown with friends and family.
There are lots of reasons we love this city and the people who live and work here. Having the opportunity to share in the small town charm of events like the Christmas Parade is one of those reasons. There’s something special about sipping hot chocolate, laughing and joking with friends while “ooohing and aahhhing” at the festive vehicles snaking their way through town. It reminds us that while Ennis is a growing city, it remains at heart a small town where simple pleasures shared with friends and family still mean the most.
This year’s parade will take place on Thursday, Dec. 4, and organizers are hoping it will be the biggest, brightest and best yet. Our readers can make sure that’s the case by signing up to enter a float in the event. We’ve been publishing an entry form in the pages of the Ennis Daily News in recent weeks and now it’s crunch time. The deadline to enter is tomorrow, Nov. 21, so don’t wait to submit your application.
Even if you aren’t able to enter the parade, we encourage everyone to join the party along Ennis Ave. on Dec. 4. The parade will begin around 7 p.m. and you should get their early to get a good spot. The Christmas spirit is already in the air and we’re looking forward to formally ushering in the season with the annual Christmas Parade. Don’t miss your chance to share in the fun.
