Congratulations EISD teachers

Ennis has outstanding schools and an exceptional group of teachers, there is no doubt about that.
On the weekend of March 7, three educators from Ennis were given awards from Region 10 of the Association of Texas Professional Educators (ATPE) for their hard work and dedication to the students of the Ennis Independent School District.
At the Ennis Daily News, we are proud these teachers received the honor and recognition that so many in our district deserve. ATPE’s Region 10 covers a very large area with many school districts. A number of teachers and other educators applied for the awards, and for three Ennis ISD employees to receive them says a lot about the quality of education that our children are getting here in Ennis. Ronda Hollingsworth was named Teacher of the Year for Region 10, and Sherry Morris was named Associate of the Year for the same region. Both educators work at Bowie Elementary. They go above and beyond what is required to help their students learn.
ATPE Region 10 also recognized Vanessa Gibbons for her work as a teacher’s aide at Austin Elementary. Gibbons is currently working on getting her teaching certificate from Navarro College. She received a $500 scholarship from ATPE. The organization recognized potential in her, and was willing to invest in her education. She will continue to be an asset to the Ennis ISD after she finishes at Navarro.
Educators like Hollingsworth, Morris and Gibbons make Ennis schools a great place for students to learn. They can help shape the lives of students, and, in turn, make our community a better place to live. We are proud of all of the great educators in Ennis, but we especially want to recognize these three for their excellent contributions to our schools and our students.
