Check out our public library

Reading is good. No matter how much technology advances and changes the way we receive information and entertainment, the simple act of reading words on a page will always hold a special appeal for most of us.
Public libraries have sometimes earned reputations as stuffy places, where silent work is done and fun can be tough to find among the shelves of dusty books. The Ennis Public Library proves that isn’t the case.
There is so much offered at the local library that any child – and adult – should be happy to visit.
The summer reading program alone shows how much fun children can have reading when given a little incentive. If you haven’t had the chance to see what the library staff does each year in the meeting room with hundreds of kids every week, you really are missing out.
Children’s Services Director Jessica Diaz has kept the fun ball rolling throughout the year with Family Fun night every month, where a juggler, clown, or some other entertainer visits local children to help deliver the message that reading can be fun.
However, the library staff has not just focused on making the facility a place for kids. With computers accessible for free to all library cardholders, those needing to look for employment or housing – or maybe just wanting to change the status on their MySpace page – can get online with ease.
Young or old, the library in Ennis, Texas, is doing what it can to make learning fun and easy. If you are living inside the city limits, take the time now to get your free library card. For those living outside the city limits, your entire family can still receive all of this service for only $20 a month.
That’s a great deal in our opinion.
