Kwik Kar repeats as junior division champs

Powerhouse ready to make waves at district
Over the last couple of years, junior division team Kwik Kar has bottled up the formula for victory and played winning ball night after night.
In 2008, Kwik Kar went 13-0 at Bluebonnet Park. On Wednesday night, coach Michelle Duncan’s ballclub capped off a 15-0 run at Bluebonnet Park this year with a 9-2 triumph over the Noon Lions in the city championship game.
While many league followers may have been looking for a new contender to take over, Duncan has enjoyed leading the girls in yellow to another title.
“I know not many people wanted to see us go undefeated, but my girls work hard and they’re always ready to practice or play,” Duncan said.
“We try to compete at a very high level.”
Kwik Kar had all three of the game’s hits as Noon Lions committed more errors (2-1). Autumn Gillespie led the Kwik Kar offense with a two-RBI double, while Aubrey Smith (RBI double) and Caitlyn Burns (triple) also found success.
