Suspect held at county jail in Jaquez murder

The man who police say admitted to killing Julia Jaquez has yet to post bond to get out of jail.
Michael Wayne Johnson, 29, remains in the Ellis County Jail after his arraignment and transfer Thursday. Ennis Police Department spokesman Det. Lt. Mike Hopson said that over the course of two interrogation sessions, Johnson admitted to stabbing Jaquez on Wednesday.
Hopson said Johnson was transferred to the county’s facility after arraignment in Ennis City Court, where bond was set at $100,000 for one count of murder. He had not posted bond and remained incarcerated at press time.
