Teague rallies past CVS at state tourney
The record will show 0-2 for CVS Pharmacy at the TTAB freshman state tournament, but both of the team’s opponents realize they were fortunate to get those victories.
In Monday’s loss to Valley Mills, CVS led 16-11 at one point. Facing the Teague Lions on Tuesday at Bluebonnet Park, CVS led 8-2 before Teague found its footing for a huge inning to pull out a 12-8 win. The Lions finished with more hits (9-5) and errors (5-1).
“We were able to compete with two pretty good teams [here at state] and we know we could still be playing,” said coach Randy Farrell.
