Palmer 2009 defensive line prides itself on discipline

This week, the Palmer Bulldogs (0-2) travel to Kemp to take on the Yellowjackets (1-2). The Jackets are a team that likes to run counter plays, which require defensive linemen be disciplined and maintain their position so that when the play comes back in their direction these Bulldogs will be there to make the tackle.
Last year, Kemp ran counter plays for big gains on the Bulldogs, but Palmer coach Ryan Roecker is looking for different results this year.

“I think our kids will be up to the challenge,” said Roecker.

“I told our linemen at the beginning of the year that their position may not be as glamorous as backs and receivers, but if our safeties and cornerbacks are the ones making tackles we will be in a world of hurt. We need to put pressure on the offense and make sure we play our gap responsibilities.”
