Who’s king of the jungle?

With non-district play out of the way, the Ennis Lions are chomping at the bit to make some early progress in the 16-4A race.
Tonight in Waco ISD Stadium at 7:30 p.m., Ennis (2-1) will match up with the Waco High Lions (0-3). Waco may prove to be much better than its winless record indicates, considering it has only played undefeated 5A teams thus far — two of which are state-ranked.

Ennis defensive coordinator Paul Willingham said the red Lions don’t run a typical offense by any means, which should make for an interesting challenge to the visiting defense. They’re following the spread trend in an unconventional way.
