8th Maroon Lions crush Kennemer football, 30-7

It seems like ages ago that the eighth grade Maroon Lions started out 0-3.

On Wednesday, Ennis (3-4) took a 30-0 lead early in the third quarter on its way to a 30-7 victory over Duncanville Kennemer.
“I thought the guys played well overall in this one and showed a lot of confidence from the start,” said coach Quinton Brown.

“Defensively, we pitched a shutout. Offensively, I have to go right to the offensive line because those guys did a great job so we could consistently move the ball. Those guys are the key for this team, as far as how successful we can be.”

Weston Quick came through at quarterback with 153 passing yards and a
pair of touchdowns. His top targets were Shawn Johnson (3-98-1) and Terrell Russell (3-42-1). On the ground, five Lions tallied double-digit rushing yards: Terrence Williams (5-36-0), Eric Montemayor (3-21-0), Nichollas Gabriele (4-20-1), Larry Sallie (3-19-1) and Johnson (2-13-0).
