Tourney to boost Hope Clinic

A golf tournament held next weekend will give golfers in Ellis County the opportunity to benefit indigent healthcare and win $25,000.
The first-ever Hope Clinic $25,000 Hole-in-One Golf Tournament will be held Nov. 6. Infinite Care Home Health is organizing the tournament, but all the proceeds will go to Hope Clinic, which provides low-cost healthcare to the uninsured and underserved residents of Ellis County, said Queneth Wilson, physician liaison for Infinite Care.
Since many nurses and other staff members from Infinite Care volunteer at Hope Clinic, Wilson said they wanted to help the clinic even more. Last year, Infinite Care donated money to the Hope Clinic, but this year, they decided on a golf tournament.

“Infinite Care is big on giving back to the community,” Wilson said. “Most of our nurses are from Ellis County, so that’s where we want to give back to.”

As an LVN, Wilson said she has volunteered at Hope Clinic since it opened nine years ago and finds it rewarding. The clinic provides a range of services including pediatrics, geriatrics, dental care and gynecology, she said.

“Hope Clinic serves all of Ellis County,” Wilson said. “They cover the full gamut (of needs) for indigent healthcare.”

Help the clinic
The Hope Clinic $25,000 Hole-in-One Golf Tournament will begin at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 6 at the Old Brickyard Golf Course, located at 605 N. Interstate 45 in Ferris. The cost is $100 for participants under 55 and $75 for those older than 55. For more information or to register, call Queneth Wilson at 214-435-2126.
