Yellowjacket hoops off to strong start this season

Last Friday, the Ferris Yellowjacket basketball team drilled the Sunnyvale Raiders 71-41 at home. On Tuesday night, they followed by winning a thriller 90-87 in overtime against the Edgewood Bulldogs.
The Yellowjackets’ defense did not let the Raiders score more than 15 points in any quarter and allowed them to muster only 41 points all game. Offensively, the team was led in scoring by senior forward Jeremy Masterson with 16 points on the night.

Also contributing to the Yellowjacket scoring was senior guard Casey Leamon with 14 points. Junior forward Joseph Pickett, sophomore forward Robert Grady and junior guard Brent Isaac had nine points apiece for the game.

Against the Bulldogs, the going was a little tougher as the team trailed most of the game and needed overtime to get the victory.
