Lady Lion soccer tramples Lancaster Tigers, 9-1

Lady Lion soccer expects good results when it tangles with the Lancaster Tigers, and for good reason.
Ennis (4-7, 1-3) has dominated the matchup historically and that was the case on Friday in a 9-1 road win for the maroon team. Even so, coach Kim Vernor was looking for more than just a victory and she wasn’t thrilled with all aspects of the blowout.

“We had some good teamwork, but didn’t switch the field as much as I’d hoped coming in,” Vernor said. “I wasn’t pleased to see us give up a goal and (goalie) Mariah (Zapata) hesitated on the shot after we’d had a defensive breakdown. At halftime, I was so upset about that goal it was hard to be happy that we were winning.
