Kiwanis overcomes early adversity vs. ESB, 9-5

Nobody said the playoffs were supposed to be easy.
Kiwanis ran into some early trouble in Tuesday’s late freshman league matchup with ESB, trailing 4-0 right out of the box. The home team hung tough, however, and controlled the contest the rest of the way to win 9-5.

Kiwanis remains in the winner’s bracket with the victory, while ESB will try to keep its season alive tonight. In the win, Kiwanis finished with fewer hits (1-4) and errors (3-4).

“(ESB) played aggressive and Coach (Wayne) Cupples has done a good job with that team,” Kiwanis coach Adam Fuentes said. “You can see their improvement.”
