Don’t miss out on the chamber’s annual auction
If you haven’t gotten your tickets to go to what is possibly the biggest local community event of the summer, time is running out.
The annual Ennis Chamber of Commerce fundraising auction — this year, themed “Shanghai Nights” — is set Saturday, and offers residents food, fellowship and the opportunity to support a vital community resource all while having a blast of a time at one of the premier social events many of us have the chance to attend locally.
The workers at the chamber bend over backwards to make this event both memorable and fun for those who come to attend each year, and by pushing a theme drawn straight from the Orient, they’re breathing fresh air into the effort.
The lengths the chamber goes to in order to make the event appealing and worthwhile each year serve both to make it an attractive opportunity to socialize and support the chamber and to bring a feeling of togetherness and community to Ennis on a weekend that already boasts a full slate of events. Not the least of which is the opening game for the Ennis Lions football team, so we’re sure the community’s energy level is already going to be quite high.
We’d encourage those of you who have never attended one of the chamber’s annual auctions to make this year the exception.
The price of admission will provide food and drink, and the opportunity to see a live, professional auction that features high-quality items up for grabs.
Prices can climb as community members reach into their wallets to offer their support to the local chamber, but that doesn’t mean that some pieces aren’t available at a bargain.
It’s a weekend of opportunity, and we expect this year’s auction will be just as well received as the last. If you’re riding the fence on whether to go, we hope kind encouragement will convince you it’s worth the effort and time to be a part of your community.
