Cougars top JV Lions behind huge first half

Ennis won the second half of Thursday night’s JV football opener, but the final result was never in doubt because of a very difficult first two quarters.
The JV Lions (0-1) found themselves down 28-6 at the half thanks to poor tackling and a costly special teams fumble, among other things. Ennis managed to reboot and win the second half, however, for a 28-14 loss in the end.

“You feel good about the second half and finishing (the game) hard,” said coach Bryan Clark. “That first half was awful. We didn’t do anything right other than that one long run Telvin (Gardner) broke.
