City set to pass budget

Ennis’ City Commission is set up to sign off on its 2010-11 budget and tax rate at its meeting Monday.
The tax rate itself remains unchanged from the 2009-10 rate and should lead to a small savings for property owners because of depressed values around the county. The budget has been called the tightest in recent memory, with cuts in almost every corner designed to retain city employment and services without a tax hike.
