Court sets ‘Pink Out Day’

The Ellis County Commissioners Court was a brighter place Monday night because of some area firefighters.
Representatives from the Waxahachie and Red Oak Fire Departments stopped by the regularly scheduled meeting in pink T-shirts to show their support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the “Pink Out Day” proclamation read to the court. Commissioners voted to make Oct. 1 “Pink Out Day” in Ellis County and urged everyone to wear pink to raise awareness and education about the disease that affects so many.

Commissioners also read and approved a proclamation recognizing the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Post 106 in celebration of its one-year anniversary.
