Waxahachie squeaks past 9th Lion football, 28-22

The Freshman Lions literally came within a couple of yards of potentially beating Waxahachie at home Thursday night.
Ennis (3-5-1, 2-4-1) made it all the way down to the Waxahachie 2 on the game’s final play in a 28-22 loss. While the Lions wanted nothing less than a victory, they showed great improvement from last week’s shutout loss to Mesquite Poteet.

Quarterback Marcus Daggs had one of his better games of the season by completing 14 of 21 passes for 236 yards and a touchdown. Meanwhile, Nick Gabriele delivered the team’s best rushing performance of the season by far with 15 carries for 103 yards and two touchdowns. The top receivers for Daggs in the game were Cori Jones (3-141-1) and Larry Sallie (5-39).
