Suspect jailed for choking ex-wife

Ennis police said Christmas was relatively quiet this year with the exception of an arrest for family violence spurred by an alleged attack during a woman’s efforts to sell tamales.
Det. Sgt. Mike Hopson, public information officer for the Ennis Police Department, said Roland Munoz-Sanchez, 36, was arrested Dec. 23 for assault family violence impeding breath, a felony warrant, in reference to a Dec. 14 incident.

Hopson said the suspect’s ex-wife reported she was selling tamales at a local business and he attacked her, choking her and punching her in the face.
