2000-10 a decade of growth
The last decade has been good to the city of Ennis.
New growth and permitting accounts for nearly 40 percent of the city’s total taxable value, according to a report Ennis City Manager Steve Howerton released this week.
The city has seen more than 1,400 construction units built since 2000, representing more than 6.9 million feet of new construction and a permitted value of well over $640 million. More than 1,100 of those individual construction units were residential units, with 27 industrial projects and 41 commercial projects among the other areas of growth.
