Border calls for order

The wave of people, particularly families and unattached children landing on the banks of North American soil after crossing the Rio Grand is heart-rending.

Cresting like breakers, the influx of 52,000 children since October, doubling their numbers from the year before, is also shocking.

Seeking a better life in our country comes the word that thousands will be transferred to the Dallas area. It speaks of the desperate measures people in Central America are taking, believing relief is living under the Stars and Stripes. That speaks to the appeal of our nation.

Hope is pointing their compass north to Tijuana, north through the Sonoran and Chuhuahuan deserts, north over the Sierra Madre mountains. The compelling border run is not luring them south to another America.
