Boys saved from cave, story grips entire nation

As the crow flies, it is 14,276 miles from Dallas to Bangkok, Thailand and another 798 miles to the north of the country to Chiang Rai. Roughly 15,000 miles separate us from a story that has gripped the planet: the trapped boys soccer team. People around the globe have pulled for the complete rescue of these young boys, aged 11 to 16, along with an assistant coach who is 25. When the first four were extricated and whisked away to a hospital, we breathed a sigh of relief. When another four were pulled to safety on Monday, it meant just four remained, along with their coach. Finally all are now safe. Olly olly oxen free. Thai Navy Seals are on the front line, and if they are anything like U.S. Navy Seals, the boys are in excellent hands, though 10 days underground would be mighty taxing for anyone. Narongsak Osottanakorn heads up the search operation, and he reported that “All of them are safe and conscious.” Read stories like this and more in your latest edition of The Ennis News.
