Delivering on a promise

When the citizens of Ennis voted to raise the city tax, the idea being peddled by leaders was

the need for a new police facility and to implement several programs to help the fight against

crime.

The small rate would add up to $750,000 a year towards those areas. After four years it can

halted or approved for additional years. Most saw fit to approve such a measure.

While one still has to wonder why the building was given a green light without a study as to

what it would cost, it stands to reason that – even if every cent were set aside for the facility,

$3 million over four years wouldn’t buy much of a complex.
