Friday Night Lights is near, and we can’t wait for kickoff

The kickoff to the 2018 high school football is upon us and with that comes marching bands blasting the fight song, cheerleaders imploring fans to get louder, pads popping as a player makes a tackle — it all returns next Friday night as several of our local teams kickoff the new season with dreams and hopes of making a deep state title run. Ennis, Palmer, Ferris, Italy and Avalon are just some of the schools that play next Friday night. During the next few months, student athletes will put their skills to the test and be ready to shine with the end goal of reaching the state playoffs. They, along with their coaches, will spend hours practicing on the field and studying film in hopes of winning as many games as possible.
