In times of dangerous weather


Bad weather has a way of uniting people. It’s true. Let it rain in biblical proportions, and folks gather together for safety reasons. While not everyone takes the warning and climbs aboard the ark, it does cause a frantic crowd to take notice. When the roads get icy or when snow covers the landscape, it is amazing how quickly people come to the aid of others, whether they are involved in a wreck, are stuck or simply can’t gain traction. Water and wind are two of nature’s most powerful forces. Temperature is another. Mankind has even made itself believe it can control the weather. The best we seem to be able to do is open umbrellas, fly kites or wear knee boots. Heat and humidity are not pro basketball teams from Miami, though their combination is a dreaded weather front. No state has the market cornered on the twosome, though Texas comes mighty close. As the old saying goes, if its not the heat, its the humidity.
