News that the Jim Lake Company, known for their development success in the Bishop Arts District in Dallas, has at least temporarily removed itself from any downtown Ennis revitalization plans stung some people pretty hard this past week.

This is understandable. A lack of development in the past decade appeared to end recently when a lot of aggressive plans were tossed around at social parties, Chamber of Commerce After Hours events and even in private meetings recently.
